She offers a variety of classes and workshops, including, ante-natal and post-natal yoga, baby yoga-massage and Active Birth preparation for partners. Kay also teaches yoga in Oxford and trains Yogabirth and British Wheel of Yoga teachers.

Yogabirth and Active Birth are related organisations of experienced like-minded professional yoga teachers, trained in teaching and supporting women through Pregnancy, birth and the post natal period for over 35 years. Yogabirth training is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.

YogaBirth in Oxford offers a range of courses and classes designed to empower women to gain confidence in their ability to give birth and care for their babies by accessing their inner resources for the best possible birth experience.

YogaBirth teachers are used to working alongside midwifery services and other health professionals in an integrated way. In Oxford, we can offer additional group partner classes incorporating acupuncture and shiatsu with Jaqueline Mangold.  We can also support women and their partners through labour.

Wednesdays 19.00- 21.00

One and a half hours of yoga and bodywork including breathing and relaxation, followed by half an hour of discussion, with refreshments at the end of the class, will help you make new friends, enjoy your pregnancy and prepare you for labour, birth and beyond.

You can start at any stage in your pregnancy, ideally from the third month onwards.

Workshops designed to help your partner and/or others who wish to attend the birth,  to prepare for being with you through labour and birth. They include normal birth physiology, practice of massage, relaxation, movement & positions for labour, water birth, breastfeeding, life with a new baby and protecting your relationship. Group classes and private sessions are offered.

Kay's classes, with their combination of yoga, birth preparation, discussion and information, aim to encourage,  support and empower pregnant women to gain confidence in their bodies, their ability to have an active birth and also care for their baby in their own most natural and instinctive way.

Nothing can guarantee a straightforward birth, but attendance at Yoga classes through pregnancy, with regular practice at home, will help you to stay fit and learn techniques for labour and birth.

Yoga practise through pregnancy works to improve the body’s alignment which in turn can reduce tension, release energy, increase strength and prevent or relieve many of the discomforts that often accompany pregnancy.

Previous experience of yoga is not necessary and this type of yoga, inspired by Vanda Scaravelli will not present any difficulty to beginners.

Loving touch is an important and valuable way to communicate with your baby and have fun together. Research has shown that baby massage can enhance infant mental and physical health and development. Sessions involve physical play, singing and talking as well as yoga-massage instruction with some Yoga for you too. Classes, courses and private sessions are available.

For women who with PGP or back pain who require ‘remedial’ yoga more individually tailored to their specific needs and who wish to work on relieving discomfort or painful structural conditions and learn how to maintain or improve mobility:  One 75 minute 1-1 session is recommended before starting a general Yogabirth class
